My $100 Rule
let it be known
It’s that time of year again when everyone panics and Soho turns into a sea of sameness. Fall fashion.. do I dread it? No because objectively it’s the best fashion season, but I dread everyone else.
I have this new rule that I came up with one of my friends, Liz (hi). Anything that’s a trend item should be less than $100. Honestly, I’d go as far to say that anything that isn’t a bag, a shoe, or a coat should maybe live under the $100 mark.
The logic? Fall is when trends move fast—freakishly fast. I won’t lie, I like some of the trends, and I’m tapping into a few this year (chartreuse in general, is one). As much as I rip on trends and those who participate, I also love them. It’s a constant battle, especially when they’re loud.
I’m hard on myself because participating in trends can feel like a lack of point of view, a lack of personal style. One who stands for everything stands for nothing. But lack of taste? Not necessarily. So what’s the solution? I don’t know. I just know I’m going to wear what I like and what makes me feel good.
And if something makes you feel good and you can get that feeling without dropping cash, even better.
This week, I styled a couple looks (plus a list!) where every item is under $100—pieces that feel of the moment, seasonal, and worth making room for. (disclaimer: this is an experiment - I can’t be held responsible if I break my own rule)

Lastly, here’s a list of more things I found under $100 for the season!
brandy melville amelie cardigan ($38)
zara polka dot halter top ($49)
lioness soho jacket ($99)
zara matching top ($79)
Abercrombie & fitch sienna mini skort ($60)
uniqlo pocketable parka ($49), or the men’s one
zara lace camisole ($69)
lioness jersey ($79)
source unknown loop choker & gold ($70)
peche nica ($89), had to thrown these in there if you want a higher quality miu miu dupe!!
That’s all! <3

Wait I want more of this
This is such a good rule honestly - fall trends move SO fast sometimes I can barely keep up. Going to try and apply this to my shopping habits!
